Vacuum kiln drying: This is our in house process that uses a vacuum chamber and a specialised kiln to rapidly dry wood while minimising stress and checking (cracks)

We then flatten and plane all the lengths of wood until uniform in thickness before gluing them to the desired size to create the frame blank.

Sand the clock: We use a variety of grits of sandpaper to smooth the surface of the wood before being machined.

Finish the clock: We choose a finish that will protect the wood and enhance its natural beauty. Options include oil, lacquer, wax, or a wood stain. We generally use wax so that the natural colour of the wood can be seen and the grain of the wood is enhanced to provide beauty and allow the grain to "pop"

Install the movement and hands: We carefully install your choice of clock movement and hands. Making sure that the hands are properly aligned and that the movement is running smoothly.

Each clock is made from a individual slices of imber usually from a different tree. This means that the grain and pattern of the wood will change from one to another.
